Luxembourg in Top 10 for ideal e-commerce distribution centre
PwC Belgium recently published for the Flemish Institute for Logistics (VIL) a study on the classification of ideal operating areas for European e-commerce distribution centres.
This analysis includes a total of 44 regions in the following countries: Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Luxembourg and the United Kingdom.
PwC considered a total of 21 factors which could lead a company to install its distribution centre at a given location.
These factors were grouped into seven sub-categories: proximity to markets, infrastructure, labour market, operating costs, availability of warehouses and land, skills and investment climate.
The overall ranking is led by Rhineland-Palatinate (Germany), followed by Saarland (Germany) and Wallonia (Belgium). Luxembourg ranks eighth with an index of 6.98.
